post-vacation, i did a mini juice cleanse – it was going to be two-day thing, but then became a day-and-a-half because that’s just what happened. i also didn’t really do a true juice cleanse – there were smoothies and veggie/fruit snacks built in, because i like to chew my food sometimes. i thought i would share my smoothie recipe that i used, which looks disgusting but was delicious. there are no photos because i am a bad person. also, let’s be real: my juice cleanse ended when my parents took me to dinner and i ordered a burger. not the way to end a real juice cleanse, but i’m a rebel.
1-2 cups spinach (2 cups = more smoothie…i just sort of packed it in until it looked right)
1 cup blueberries
3 strawberries (for sweetness)
1/2 cup liquid (i used water, you can use juice or coconut milk or whatever makes your heart sing)
blend it all together. be warned – if you refrigerate this overnight, it sort of solidifies, but a quick stir makes it easy to drink.
my other absolutely favorite juice is two ingredients: 1 grapefruit, 1 cup (or more) strawberries. you can add mint in to cut the acidity if you want, but i LOVE how sweet and tangy this juice is. pro-tip: this is delicious with vodka.
